IBM And The Development of Human Languages

IBM has a great role in collecting information of languages and provides facilities to analyze different aspects of human languages and their impacts. IBM developed a system, Watson that has great knowledge and vocabulary of languages. It can understand and answers the questions with the human voice after analyze and evaluation.

IBM is working to bring the human desire in reality for speech recognition, print verification (voice based) and understanding of natural languages. If we look at the history of human Language and race, it is obvious that human beings did not actually communicate at all for about two and a half million years. Eventually however, around 50,000 years ago, someone came with the bright idea to start communicating. The origin of language either gesture or spoken is unknown as theses development occurred in prehistory era and has left no direct historical traces. All the groups in the world communicate among each other; from small creatures to a big elephants, but the humans have build up a language. However it can not be established when and where the language was developed, but it is sure that it progressed at a very slow pace.

At present, there are almost over 5000 languages spoken in the world (one third in Africa), but these are linked with each other by common words, sound and grammatical building. IBM at this stage can’t work on all of these but it starts work on some of these. You know, the scholars make these languages into a new family group which are possibly less than twenty. The most extensive group of languages nowadays is the Indo-European, almost half of the world’s population. The group, consists from Persian and Hindi to Norwegian and English, is believed to came out from the language of a tribe of migrants were traveling around western Asia and Eastern Europe at around 3000 BC.

The Babylonians, Assyrians, Phoenicians to the Hebrews has played an important rule and one Semitic language, Aramaic becomes and Lingua franca in the Middle East. In the development of the language, not an ethnic link was established, the example can be coated as the Indo Iranian group of language Aryan, which is spoken from Persia to India, the Nazis chooses the word Aryan to recognize a blond master race. The same is exactly applied for the Semitic family, including two groups, of which has played a significant role in the human history of the Arabs and Jews.

In the modern times, the Indo-European languages have spread across the globe. Over the course of time the languages commonly and continuously infiltrate among each other, as words are spread by conquest, trade, empire, technology, religion and many more. It’s not so far when you will be able to run and use you all appliances and systems with your voice commands. IBM did a lot on it and we will soon see that through voice recognition system you will be able to do everything with your voice. Prototypes are in process and soon freedom of expressions will come in to reality.
